What is the average cost/amount spent on a wedding in New Zealand?

If this can be backed up by statistics that I can cite for an assignment that would be preferable. So far I have only found a general reference to $30000 on a bridal website.

Yay, another kiwi bride! Well I'm not officially engaged but we will be getting married sometime in the next couple of years =)

Gawd $30k is just obsene! There's no way in h**l I'm spending that much. I don't even want to spend $10k!

I'm having nice finger food and only a few wines and beers served at the wedding, as opposed to a full bar and three-course sit down dinner. People don't go for the food, they're there to see you get married!

Where bouts are you? I'm looking for a nice historic venue (not a church though) in Auckland or maybe even Cambridge.

$30,000! You're kidding me!

Well, our costs have so far come to just under $10,000. We budgeted $15,000 for our wedding. All major expenses have been paid for already (we get married in November) there are still a couple of things left to pay for but I think we will be coming under budget.

BTW I am a New Zealand bride (or I will be in November).
