I am also looking for medical information. Do you have emergency rooms? Private clinics? Do you offer a government method for low incomed people to cover medical costs? Life expectancy?

  1. The cost of a single family home depends on where you are - it's nearly twice as much in the Dublin area as it is anywhere else, except perhaps the cities of Cork and Galway. Not sure what constitutes average rent.

Medicial information: Of course there are emergency rooms, known over here as Casualty. Of course there are private clinics, also known as private hospitals. There is also a state-run medical system, and low income earners are issued a medical card, but I believe you have to apply for it. Not sure of life expectancy, it seems to be changing now. I would say late seventies for women, mid seventies for men.

  2. In Dublin the average rent would fall somewhere between 800 - 1200 euros, depending on what area you choose. Rents north of the Liffey are usually cheaper.

  3. House prices are ridiculous. You wouldn't get a wendy house for less than 250 grand.

    Renting is just as bad.

We do have emergency rooms but they're usually overcrowded because all the space and resources in the hospitals is taken up by the pen pushers.

We have plenty of private clinics. The PDs have seen to that by giving them PUBLIC land to build their exclusive (no riff-raff) hospitals.

You have to be on the breadline to get a medical card. (or be friendly with a local politician)

Life expectancy is getting lower by the year thanks to our filthy hospitals.

    WE'RE OFF TO CUBA!

  4. Here is a site so you can compare counties for renting, buying and sharing  http://www.daft.ie

Also when I was staying there it is hard if you are a foreigner to get medical insurance. The best bet is if you have insurance where you are at to take out travel or out of the country insurance on your policy.

I did have to use some of the clinics no worse than any other clinic or casualty

The antibotic was way cheaper than in America and the doctor was nice.

If you go country make sure its where a bus like Bus Eireann comes through.

  5. In Northern Ireland there is the National Health Service. paid for by public subscription from pay - tho you may also have private insurance.

    Average rent is approx £500 - £600.
