  1. depend where u flying from,

  2. The airfare could run about $2100 each.

(Not that you can ever be precise about airfares.

There were some in October for $1800 on

Air Pacific, which I'm not familiar with.

    There were higher fares, too.)

Then it would depend on how long you plan to go for

and the class of hotels you choose.

For a rough estimate, take a guess on hotel room prices,

and add maybe $100-150/day for other expenses

(food, in-country travel, sightseeing admissions, etc.)

So for two weeks, two people:

    $4200 air

    $1400 hotel

    $1400 other

    $7000 total

    That's a very rough estimate -

you could make the hotel and other costs lower or higher,

    depending on your tastes.

If you do a google search on

    package tour new zealand

you will get tons of pages with lots of different tours:

    guided, self-drive, whatever.

That will give you an idea of land costs as well.

Typically a fully escorted package tour,

including hotel, but not air runs anywhere from

$150/day (low end) to $300 or $500/day (high end).

  3. As so often average cost has a wide meaning.

After your airfare you can travel for as cheap or expensive as you choose to. Even your airfare can vary a lot.

With its location in the southern hemisphere New Zealand’s seasons are opposing those from Connecticut. This influences the main travel time that is between November until February. With its peak time between Christmas to the end of January (school holidays).

Depending on what your outdoor interests are you can choose the spring or autumn season. This in return affects the airfare often positive.

It pays off to do some research on the best time to travel, climate, and choice what to see, the way to travel,  and determine your preference of accommodation. This website might be a good starting point http://www.new-zealand-vacations-in-west... .

And most of all enjoy, it's a beautiful country.
