  1. Not sure in all cases.

Medicare accepts about $300 per mile, each way.

They turned down a billing for $800, 1 mile round trip.

    Paid $600.

  2. It depends where you live, in some areas the Ambulance is free. The bigger problem is the life flight. Some Insurance only gives you $3,000 per year for ambulance and helicopter. One life flight can be $50,000. The EMT's have a standard protocol to call the helicopter depending on the mode of injury. If someone is unconscious or goofy from a head injury, they automatically get the heli.

Everyone needs to check their policy limits.

  3. I had a client that recently received an ambulance ride that was a total of 110 miles, his bill was about $6,200. Pretty pricy!

  4. its tons like 2,000-6,000. I remmeber seeing a show where some person had a stroke and there insurance was activating, and they wouldn't accept it. it's extremely expensive!
