  1. I Take It You're Not From Alberta?

Sorry I Have No Idea How Much It Would Cost.

But Good Luck Sweetheart & Congrads To You & The Father.

    Good Luck All

  2. I saw the bill when my daughter was born and they were charging $350 a night many years ago for just her crib!!!!  Actually my partner's semi-private room was much less.

Every citizen and legal resident of Canada has public health insurance so if you are a LEGAL resident of Canada you should have a health card unless you are a brand spanking new immigrant.  Having a health card means that you have at least ward coverage and shouldn't be out of pocket much.

If you permit me my hopes and prayers are with you for a successful delivery and a healthy baby.  Good luck and God bless.

  3. The way to save money is to get a midwife and have your child in your home rather than racking up bill at the hospital.

  4. My Dr.'s clinic has a list of what it costs for prenatal care in Calgary.

    http://www.lowriskmaternity.ca/uninsured...

Labour and Delivery is listed to cost $700 for anyone who has uninsured billing.

It's not too steep, fortunately, but really you should be getting all the services for free. Hope that helps!

Edited to add: The link I gave you shows what it would cost for the Dr. portion of a regular vaginal birth. The hospital itself has an additional fee that is mentioned in that link and you can contact the Foothills Medical Center for an idea of further costs.

  5. Hope you have lots of money.  According to one of the websites I just read the average stay in a hospital for childbirth is about $7,000.

  6. I hope you do realize that Calgary is experiencing a baby boom and maternity rooms/areas are pretty crowded.

As you are paying for this delivery out of pocket, another city might serve your needs better.

Sorry I don't know about costs, it looks like other people have covered that already.
