  1. About $2000 if you do it right (shots, spayed/neutered, etc.)

  2. its not 2000.

about 80 dollars for first tree shots, and vaccine against ravies and microchip.pills calcium - for bones (very important for puppy), ear cleaning solution, bed for inside, medical shampoo, bowls, food (good food like royal canin costc like, 80 bucks, like 15 kg (about 28 pounds), that should  hold ur pup for about 2 and half months, and toys, brush, house, box (we have homemade, and its better then some u can buy), collad, leash

well, about...300-to 400 dollars for starters.

and then u are ok a couple of months, and then if u wanna clear ur dogs ears, and keep him in good condition, u have to buy some of that stuff again, and food, every two months.its expensive, but good food can do wonders for ur dog, and many stomach pains and problems that usually dogs have, urs wont have to have coz u cured it before it started. and, yea, i forgot to tell that u must buy every two months a capsules for flees and ticks, and mosquito's. its called Advantix, and its cheap at vet (7-8 dollars) and it lasts for two months, u just give a couple of drop of that on dog neck skin under hair, and dont bathe him more that once a month, and dog will be flee tick free.u have to do that, coz there are such bad diseases ticks can  infect the dog with

  3. Depending where you live of course it will vary. Some things are much more expensive some places than they are others.

Where I live the 3 puppy shots are $75 each. Another $30 for the rabies. Then there is about $275 for the spay for a female, about $225 for a neuter for a male. Then you have the cost of crate, bed, collar/harness, leash, toys, puppy training classes, food, any unexpected vet bills etc.

I always allow $2,000 for a puppies first year over and above the cost of the puppy. Hopefully I have some left, but you need to have enough put by just in case you need it. Puppies chew. If they swallow something that needs to be surgically removed if you don't have the money they die. You have to over allow rather than hope it will cost the bare minimum.

  4. My pup is doing fine and I don't spend trillions of dollars

  5. 3000 maybe in the year or maybe cause i am in egypt egypt doesn't produce pets stuff so it will be more expensive . i don't know ...........

  6. Buying the dog?: Free - $5,000 and up. Most adoption fees are fairly cheep; $25-$45 but buying a dog (make sure it's NOT from a puppy mill!) can cost you quite a bit more.

A 45-50lb bag of dog food will run between $25-$45 (depending on brand. I recommend Nutro brand).

Vet work will cost you about $200-$400 for full vaccination and microchipping (some vac. not required; it depends on where you live,) having the pup fixed, and a night over at the vet for observation. If your dog is a pound-puppy - from the local shelter - you will more than likly have to pay about $15 for flea shampoo and between $15-$30 on Bordetella treatment. My first vet bill cost me a little under $300.

There should be NO medication costs if your pup is health! I have yet to buy something special for their ears or nose or what not! :/ The only thing I've had to treat for is Bordetella, because I adopt my dogs, not buy them!

Collars, bowls, toys, training treats, leashes, bones, etc will cost you around $50-$70. I recommend getting two collars and leashes. Back-ups are more than handy! I have five leashes and I can only seem to find two when I really need them! Also, heavy bowls the dog cant drag around or tip are an excellent investment.

Teething damage may cost you into the $1,000s if you actually replace the furniture chewed on. (My cabinets still look like a beaver got loose on them! We've never bothered fixing them.)

A small dog crate may run around $35-$55 (I think). A large dog kennel/dog house will run around $100-$350. A dog door costs around $25. Fencing can run into the thousands depending on how much area you fence in...

The paper towels you'll need to clean up his 'little accidents' will probably run around $30-$55 (I kid you naught). Special potty-training stuff may cost you around $100, but such things are not really necessary. I've never used them!

If you have any more questions, email me! :D Hope I helped!

  7. i spend about $1500 the first year. That does not include purchase price.

My puppy came to me sick with worms, mange and the whole works.

I would say average its about $1000, including food and everything else.

  8. You do realize that puppies turn into dogs? So you are getting a dog, that needs training, walks, vet care, food, toys, and when you calculate the cost you never know what will come up!

i'll give you an example: I've got cats, they usually don't cost more than $50 per year for the vet and say $30 per month for their food and litter.

well, one of my cats developped a health problem, and we paid about $2000 for his operation, and ever since $200 every 3 months for tests amd about $30 a month for meds and $100 per month for special food. If you are not prepared to do this if the need arises, don't get a dog.
