What is the average cost of life for a single person in Los Angeles

im planning on moving out of my parents house.

i just turned 18

how much would i need to make to live alone or with roomates

At 18, I can promise you that you will not make enough money to live on your own.  I was 26 (2002) when I moved out there from Florida with a sales job making $35,000 a year and lived with roommates.  Other than living expenses it really is not so bad.  And Los Angeles is beautiful and exciting and I loved it for the two years I was there.  Plus my roommates became really good friends who introduced me to the city and other people as I knew no one when I moved out there.  Totally worth it - go for it!
