  1. They can range (in the US, for domestic adoption) anywhere from $8K to $40K, with the median being $15K-$25K.

  2. I've heard the average cost of any adoption is around 60,000 dollars, and thats U.S. dollars

  3. Average costfor Private Adoption.....

    2000  atty fees

????  medical (if no insurance or insurance covers 80% or you need a test done that is not covered by insurance)

    ????  travel if needed

????  living expenses for mom if needed

    1500  her atty costs

    800    court costs

3000  any agency fees if she needs services

    3000  home study

800     post placement visits from same agency that does home study

Hope it helps.  Keep inmind that the US allows for a 10 grand tax credit for over a 5 year peroid.  In other words, you do not owe the government 10 grand in taxes (ie.  if you owe taxes for 2008 in the amount of 6000 and you spent 3000 for adoption costs then you owe IRS only 3000)  You can do this for only a five year peroid until you get to the 10000 mark

  4. $20,000.00

  5. It depends upon whether the adoption is "wired" meaning that the adoptive parents have identified the birth mother, and one attorney will be used.  That will probably cost about $12,000 - $18,000.  If it is a private adoption with the attorney performing the search for a birth mom, then the costs are often between $20,000 and $40,000.

Several factors have a significant effect:

Medical Costs for the birth mom and baby

Lost wages for the birth mom

Travel costs to pick up the child

    etc.
