What is the average cost to get my house professionally re-painted?

We live in a community and its been about 8 years so we have to get our house re-painted soon.

My father doesn't want to hire people to do it because he thinks its too expensive but i don't want him to do it himself because 1) he has a heart condition, 2) our backyard is uneven, and 3) no matter what he does he always rushes through it so I'm afraid that it wouldn't look so good if he painted the house himself.

So I just need to know what the average cost is to get it professionally re-painted. Thanks!

You can have local painters come and give you free estimates. Just because they give you an estimate doesn't mean you have to a) do the project or b) hire them. Best of luck!

How big is it?  Does it involve ladder work?  What are the materials?  How many colors in the paint job?  Is there a lot of detail work?

So here is my suggestion: get your own estimate without your father's participation, and then evaluate the situation from there.
