What is the average earnings VS expenditure in the Uk?

I would like to know if one had to secure an average job in the UK and earn the average salary, what would your cost of living entail I.e. what would the average budget look like?

You speak my language. The average wage in the UK is around 24k. Meaning that the average person brings home around £1500 per month. Now most people will fritter this away so that absolutely nothing is left at the end of the month. However, it is possible to use this cash to amazing effect.
