  1. If you're renting, your water costs are normally covered by the owner.  You would only be expected to pay for excess water (usually very small amount, maybe $50 every six months if you have a garden to take care of).

Electricity has so many factors to consider

    a) if you have a big TV (they really chew up power)

    b) if you have an electric heater/blanket in winter

    c) if you have electric hot water system or gas

    d) if you have electric stove or gas

We have gas hot water, gas heater and gas stove (but electric oven), heaps of computers etc. but no big TV.  Two people plus pets.  Our bill is about $100 every two months.

My mother has electric hot water, three large screen TVs and two teenage boys - hers was $300 for two months.

  2. For a single person household:

Water: rates (annual bill) $600~700 per year / usage (quarterly bill) $30~100 per 3 months

Electricity: (every 2nd month bill) $70~140 per 2 months.

Gas: much the same as electricity.

  3. Around a $100 a month.
