Retail business is a non farm occupation growing in rural India.Companies producing FMCGs are finding opportunities to market throug retail outlets.However local retailers need to be conditioned to understand the opportunities.Companies are also trying srategies to enlighten the new way of income generation to retailers in rural india (giving marketing knowledge)so as to promote their products.

It depends on, the kind of product. A petrol bunk, may be different to, to toiletries or White goods. Even retailing of agricultural products are profitable.
