  1. Mine lasted 25years

But they don't make them like they used to...

  2. well it could be anything from a solenoid control valve

allowing water to enter the machine, a timer malfunction,

burnt wire. If your local repair shop will give free estimates

on repairs you might be in luck. If it is something a touch

more complicated such as the drum rotation motor. It

might just be cheaper to go new or second hand.

Sometimes you can go second hand for under $200.00

dollars sans paying between $350.00 for new scratch

and dent to $1200 dollars for top of the line brand new.

It's your choice, all depends on the funds available.

    Good Luck!

  3. I've had my washer and dryer for 20 years in October.  They're still going strong.  The washer is a top loader.  I've been hoping they die so I can get a newfangled front loading one.

  4. Life of a washing machine

Washing machine, top load 14 years

Washing machine, front load 11 years

I guess u cud get it fixed up!

  5. It depends, my experience with fixing is not encouraging: Asko $1300 repairs over 10 years over $1200, Timer .. motor...pump..motor etc..

Can you ask for a free quote for repairs and then decide if it is worth it.
