What is the average maximum carry on bag for continental airlines, or any airline in USA?

I have a bag I may want to bring onto the plane, but I do not know if it is too big. I do not want to get to the airport and be deprived of that bag because it will not fit. So, if anyone can find the size, like LxWxH, that would be great.

  1. It's a little bigger than a milk crate.

    (Guesstimating) About 1.5 Ft. X 1 FT. X 7 IN.

  2. For under seat, 9 x 14 x 28". This size will be allowed on any airline.

    Dan

  3. wouldn't you rather call the airline and find out the right information instead of relying on a bunch of" Yahoo's" to give you the answer.

  4. 22" x 14" x 9" I'm not 100% sure

  5. Just go to the airline website and they will tell you the exact measurement and weight for carry-ons.

  6. two the max on some airlines but mostly only one .   check continental website.

  7. google continental airlines and go to their web site - they have info there on bag sizes.

  8. the dimensions given by kevh94 is right  (22"x14"x9") but if it's slightly longer or wider it's acceptable as long as you can get it through security.  The only restriction is the 9" ht.  If your bag is longer or wider, you can just take up more room in the overhead (annoying the other passengers) but if your bags ht is more than 9" or maybe 10", it won't fit in the overhead bin and then you HAVE to gate check your bag.  Continental is pretty lenient about bags, as long as you get it in the overhead then you are fine.  But keep in mind that if there is no more space in the overhead bin then you will still have to gate check it.  To ensure there is plenty of overhead space, board early!  The back of the plane boards first (well after first class) so you don't want to be in front of coach.  Try to pick your seat assignment early  so you can sit about middle or back which allows you to board near the beginning. Get to the airport early to confirm your seat assignment or make changes if you have to.  If you have little kids, even better, you get to board early no matter where you sit...hope this helps.

  9. cont.  is one carry on and one persoanl item a purse etc. and the luggae can be only 50 LBS or lighter or there will be a charge of 25.00

  10. I found this on Continental's website: http://www.continental.com/web/en-US/con...

(scroll down a bit to the section that says "Carry-on bag policy")

Your bag can be no larger than 51 linear inches - add up the Length, Width, and Height (in inches) of your bag. If the sum is over 51, you'll need to pick a different bag.

I hope this was what you're looking for. Have a great flight!
