  1. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cou...

Bear in mind that these figures are 2007 and because of exchange rate fluctuations the values will have moved; in some cases e.g. USD vs. Euro nations quite dramatically.

These figures also have skewed values for certain tax haven "micro-nations" such as Andorra & San Marino where population inclusions drive down the average by several fold.

  2. The amount people are paid is not really a proper comparison of anything. It is the purchasing power of that salary that is more important, and whether salaries are keeping pace with inflation in the countries concerned.

  3. Indian-4000

    American-65000

    British-72000

  4. GDP per capita of each nation, with nominal and purchasing power parity figures.

India $1000 Nominal or $3000 PPP (it's still developing)

Great Britain $37,000 Nominal or $45,000 PPP

United States ~$45,000 both Nominal and PPP

The highest paid people in the world are people in Luxembourg, Norway, and Qatar. (They have the highest GDP per capita)
