What is the average neck size of a male pittbull?

I'm getting a collar for my friend's dog as a gift, but am unsure of what size to get for him. He's an adult male pittbull.

i would get a collar sized for probably a lab or large to medium sized dog, when u look for a collar lol i do this i with my collars to find one put it around your own neck and if it's too small for yours it's too small for the dog. it's quick but easy.

well it depends does you friend have a well bred Pit bull? or does he have one of those mutts people like to call pit bulls?

i would go with at the very least 22in. the smallest hole will be around 17in. and the biggest 22in.
