  2. Oh. You might get one to three. Depends on how often you do more than expected or make an extra effort to help someone.

    The average, I'm really pretty sure, would be less than one per year.  Very few people actually take the time to write complimentary letters about law enforcement officers.  Obviously this will depend on the relationship the department has with the citizens, but you're asking about an average here and I feel pretty comfortable suggesting it's less than one per year.

  4. There is nothing on the web which tells how many but if you go to a town with that many people and ask the police chief how many compliment letters he receives from the townspeople?  Maybe he will be able to tell you.
