What is the average pay for a first year driver for Werner

I just got hired for Werner for my first driving job. what is the average pay for a first year driver with no experience? assuming they paid for my driving school also. I make about 26-27,000 a year now would I at least make more than this? thanx

  1. You shouldn't have any problems making what you are currently doing, but you have to remember, you will be paying road expenses as well.  It will cost you between $100.00 and $150.00 per week to eat, buy drinks, etc. while on the road.  It is very easy to spend a lot of money while on the road if you don't pay attention.  

    Budget yourself and start saving for things like a plug-in type cooler.  This way you can purchase your drinks when at home and take them with you.  I also carry fixin's for sandwiches.  If you eat three square meals a day in a truck stop, two things will happen.  You will go broke and you will get real fat.  :-}

    Most new drivers, if they take any and every load they are dispatched will make between $25K and $35K.  Things will get better as time passes.  Last year I did about $65K, but I have been in this business for over 30 years.
