a good skimboard is gonna cost anywhere from $80-$250 dollars. (dont worry the $250 ones are for serious pros! lol) The best brand hands down is victoria skimboards. If you are a beginner planning to buy a board, check out skimonline. Theres a lot of great info on there!

There are also some other things the consider when you are buying a board, even as a beginner. Are you planning to skim on the east coast? If yes then you dont need a foam board when you start out, and it can be a board with a smaller rocker. (the curve of the nose, about 2 inches). If you live on the west coast then you may want to consider a foam board (if your serious about skimming). You also need a larger rocker (like 3 inches) because there are way bigger waves and you need a board that can turn faster.
