What is the average price of leveling out a house?

My house is on piers and it's a small 3 bedroom. I don't know the exact measurements, but just wanting an idea of what I'm looking at spending. I'm a single mom on a real, real tight budget. I am going to get 3 different bids, but I don't want to waste anyone's time. What should I look for when choosing a company?

First, last, and foremost, make sure that the contractor is insured.  It's easy to make a mistake and wreck your house.  Ask for and check references.  Check with the Better Business Bureau to see if there are any complaints against the contractor.  Compare the estimates to ensure that you are getting the same job from each.  As far as cost, there is no way to give you an accurate figure with the information you gave us.  Location, size of the house, and the amount it needs to be raised will all factor into the price.  Hope this helps.
