  1. Amazingly, they are no larger than a pebble. They get as small as a grain of sand. It is because of the atmosphere that they produce such spectacular features of light.


  2. If you look with a pair of binoculars you will mostly be seeing grain of sand sized particles burning up.  

    With the naked eye - they will be a little bigger but not much. From the size of BBs to spectacular ones the size of grapes.

  3. No bigger than specks of dust, believe it or not.  They are produced form the tail of a comet.

  4. Most of them are as small as pebbles and others are as big as a human fist.
