  1. F1 cars and Moto GP bikes accelerate about the same and hit a top speed just over 200mph on a straight, but the extra downforce of the F1 car allows it to brake MUCH later and carry more corner speed, making it faster on average.


  2. I think the top speed of an F1 car is around 256mph. That was an unofficial record set the BAR Honda in November 2005.

    Thats obviously along a straight, such as the hangar straight at Silverstone, where it can gather some proper prod.

    I'm not sure how fast a MotoGP bike can go though, I thought that the maximum was around the 175mph mark-I'm not completey sure fo the fastest recorded speed, although the Isle of Man TT races saw an average speed of 123mph.
