  1. It's true that architect salaries are sometimes lower than other professions requiring the same level of education.  That said, the average architect's salary will vary depending on many factors, including location, industry, employment setting and experience.

Here's a chart from PayScale.com showing the median starting salary for an architect as well as the salary progression over 20 years: http://www.payscale.com/research/US/Job=... And here's another chart showing the median architect salary in different cities: http://www.payscale.com/research/US/Job=...

To find more accurate salary data for your specific architect position, you can take PayScale's free salary survey. http://www.payscale.com/?src=yahooA

  2. I too did research for Architects salaries and after realizing that Architects really don't get paid very well  I decided to not got to the school of architecture in Fayetteville, AR. I'm not going to rack up a debt of about $100,000 to make $40,000 to $60,000 a year after graduation and on top of that you have to do an internship for three years after you graduate and only then you can apply for your Architect license. In some cases I've heard of people only making $30,000 a year after graduation. It would also take me almost eight years to get my architect license. With that being said I decided not to get a degree in Architecture, and I plan on going into Radiology or graphic design instead. If you truly love architecture and you don't ming the low salaries then go for it. With me being almost 27 years old I don't want to take eight years to get my license.

  3. Salaries vary depending on many factors. You will find that jobs like these are negotiable when it comes to salary.More information, tips and help at http://moreaboutsalary.blogspot.com/

  4. You need to be happy with the career choices you make.  You're going to spend a lot of money going to school so you don't want to spend it on a career that is going to make you miserable.

Architects make a decent salary, but that's a relative term.  Why don't you check out the American Institute of Architect's web site (the AIA) to see what kind of career information they have available.  And you can always call an architect who is local in your community to see what he/she has to say regarding this situation.

    good luck
