What is the average taxi fare rate?

like how much rate per minute, or per 1/8 mile.

it depends on what city you live in , the distance of how far your tryin to get, and the milage distance charge...which all basically depends on location and the taxi sevice you use

it depends on the city/county and state you in and sometimes

one taxi company might charge flat fee but another company

would use their meter IN THE SAME CITIY

i.e like take Malibu for example -Malibu taxi company

uses a flat rate yet United independent taxis use a meter..

other cities have zones.. (DC did but I think I heard they are going to start have meters)

Go to http://www.taxifarefinder.com/ and click on "Average Taxi Fare" at the top right.  It takes you to a page that lists taxi fares for major US cities (like 20).
