I plan on visiting from Texas. So there will be an adjustment to climate change, of course. I know that the weather there is somewhat inconsistent due to the gulf stream, but if anyone can give me a general idea- that would much appreciated.

  1. the weather can indeed vary from one moment to the next, but the temps are very consistent. i just got back from 9 days in reykjavík, and the "daytime" temps hovered around 55-60, with a chillier or milder day here and there. clouds move around really fast, and it rained about every 3-4 days.

the gulf stream is actually what stabilizes the temps in iceland from being colder than it would be (both in winter and summer), and the gulf stream colliding with the arctic stream in iceland is what gives it the very changeable weather.

  2. Well it depends on when you are going.  If it's during the months of January, February, March, April, May, November, or December, expect average temperatures of 5 to -1 degrees Celsius.  If it's during the months of June, July, August, or September, expect average temperatures of 10 to 15 degrees Celsius.  Hope this helps, and have fun on your trip!
