  1. "Speed Scouts", youth who push their Eagle, are not really getting into the spirit of the thing. Earning the Eagle is not just a matter of checking things off, it is all about growing, learning and doing.

Learning stuff to pass tests, then forgetting right afterwards is not really what it is all about.

I have more respect for those youth who plan to hit the Eagle, but take time to enjoy the ride. I also find that the adults with the Eagle appreciate it more when the did it at a relaxed pace.

    Either way- good luck!

  2. Hello Trev:

24 months is the shortest time possible, due to the tenure in each rank. This is an intense schedule, and you really don't get much out of the program. It took me 7 years, and got the final signature a week prior to my 18th birthday, but I'd say that a majority of boys take 3 to 4 years to earn the rank.

    Keep on Scoutin'
