coincidentally I've just been talking to a lifeguard. She earns minimum wage at a local private health club yet she then earns about £1 an hour more working at the local leisure services run pool. She's on £5.80 or £6.80.

don't know the average. i get £7.85 an hour but that is better than other places i know, there it is about £6.50.
