Just recently i got hired in Vancouver, BC for helping people draw autocad pictures and diagrams for fire escape routes. Currently I'm being paid $11 for each piece is draw and i want to know if this price is resonnable. I have been drawing autocad pictures back in China for almost 3years, but i'm not so sure about the price here in Canada, Vancouver.

  1. I f you are helping people to use AutoCad like a teacher then you should be paid a teachers wage - about $25 to $30 per hour.  If you are drawing plans for fire escapes then you should be paid like someone who is drawing plans for a house.  A percentage of the value of the fire escape.  If you are just drawing signs for fire escapes then it depends on where you are working.  If you are working in a unionized shop then you should be paid over $25 an hour.  Non-unionized, whatever the market will bear - meaning whoever will do the job at the cheapest price.  If someone walks in the door and say he'll do it for $10 apiece then you may not have a job much longer.
