What is the avg pay for a bricklayer in Australia. My wife and I are thinking of moving to Cairns.?

My wife and I got married in Port Douglas 2 years ago. We spent 3 weeks in Australia and it felt like leaving home when we had to fly back to the US.

Im looking for info on bricklayers wages and how easy it would be for me to find a job in the Cairns area. My wife is an RN and is a hospital supervisor so I think she would be able to find a job easily enough.

I live in Cairns - and I tell you there is so much construction going on it's not funny.

Don't know any bricklayers though ......  but the Hedleys construction group - http://www.twhedley.com.au/contact.html  are the main builders in Cairns - always hiring!

Alot going on in the Northern beaches area - like Trinity Beach, Clifton Beach, Palm Cove etc.

Cairnes is great. Good choice. I don't know about the wages but you will have no problems getting work. We have an apartment being built up there and is behind in schedule over a year because of the cyclone that happened in innisfail over a year ago. All of the tradies went down to innisfail to rebuild after the damage, which put all of cairnes projects behind at least a year. There is heaps of work. As a nurse myself, your wife wont have any problems getting work up there. I did my training at James Cook Uni up there. Good luck

Brickies earn big bickies in Australia .  Cairns is hopping with construction work.  On a wage a brickie could earn $200..-$300. per day.
