There is a cabin on the side of a mountain and everyone inside is dead...how did they die?

There is a man who has hung himself from the rafters, there is nothing in the room accept the beam and rope he hangs from, a pool of water on the floor and the door he walked through. How did he hang himself?

when i ee mountian i think of snow... maybe he had a pile of snow and stud on top of it then waited for it to melt.
