  1. It's hard to tell...  Russia's biggest and greatest leader, Stalin, was a Georgian.  Maybe the ethnic Russians resent the fact that Stalin taught them how to behave.

  2. a lot of S.Osetians had Russian passport so they were Russian citizens. Georgian forces attacted S.Osetia at the night of Olympic Games. S. Osetia asked Russia to help so Russians came. If they hadn't done it, Georgians would fight Russian boarders and captured N. Osetia (which is a part of Russia) Georgia has a very comfortable position. They can pretend to a small weak country attacted by big Russia. They HAVE ALREADY CUT THE CONNECTION TO ALL RUSSIAN TV CHANNELS AND WEBSITES. They act like a naughty baby in the kindergarten who can kick and hit his groupmate and then after his reaction say: HE STARTED IT!!!!

  3. Georiga wants to join NATO that would put NATO at Russias door step and Russia dont like that so they used a territory that has been occupied by Georgia and Russia to start a battle .....that and Georgia has been fighting over coastal territory by the Black sea with Russia and some Minoritys that live there supported by Russia (they could be a Russian minority in Georgia not sure) area is called Abkhazia this has alot to do with the backround.....over all i dont look good for Georgia as there president was cought saying to the press that hes been thinking about suicide...........LOL

  4. On 20th September 1990  South Ossetia declared its independence from Georgia. The first South Ossetia supreme power election was in December 9 1990. But Georgia acknowledged the election to be illegitimate and decreed to abolish sovereignty of the new unrecognized Republic of South Ossetia, and on the next day the Georgian government implemented the state of emergency on the territory of South Ossetia. On 6th January 1991 Georgia put its army on the territory of South Ossetia, activated the operations and started the blockade of the autonomy of South Ossetia. As result more than 10 thousand people left South Ossetia for North Ossetia and about 30 thousand Ossetians left Georgia. During the armed conflicts 1991-1992 about 300 Osetians disappeared without a trace, more than 40 thousand got status of refugee, and more than 100 Ossetian rural area were destroyed by Georgian army.

The armed conflicts were stopped when Boris Yeltsin and Eduard Shevardnadze signed the Dagomys agreements.

South Ossetia became an independent republic in January 1992 de facto, but Georgia could not let it go.

In 2004 Mikheil Saakashvili has became the president of Georgia, and the main subject-target of his presidential campaign has been South Ossetia. He has violated the Dagomys agreements.
