  1. The Bahamas all depends on how much money you got.. and how long you are staying... Paradise island is nice for tourist over at Atlantis... While Nassau itself is really dirty and ghetto... but dont get me wrong the people are really nice ive lived in the "Bad" parts of Nassau and never had any problems people are just poor thats all

  2. Nassau is ok. Downtown is a bit hectic, lots of shop, museums, restaurants, places to see. A bit dirty in my opinion. After 6pm there is nothing to do. Everything closes. On Paradise Island there is the Atlantis. It is a great hotel, super expensive. Everything in Nassau is expensive. The beaches are pretty. Take advantage of the tours and go to tourist spots. Those are good to see. I've lived in Nassau one year and it is ok. I just do not think is a paradise like people say it is. Just my opinion.

For pictures go to:( of course the pretty pictures)

  3. Depends on where you are going.

If you are going to Atlantis on Paradise isalnd.. it's a big fake vegas style resort where you never really get to experience the culture.

If you are heading to Nassau.. it's the crowded Capital with dozens of cruise ships taking over downtown. It's the historic Capital - with 3 forts, water tower, slave museums, government center etc.

The cable beach area has some nice resorts with  great beaches.. Crystal clear waters and swaying palm trees.

Harbour Island you'll find a quiet "new england" type setting, with shallow waters on one side and pink sandy beaches on the other.  Tiny B&B accomodations to luxury homes and excellent small resorts.

Abaco are dotting with tons of marinas, great beaches and fine fishing.  Bimini is laid back and old world comfortable.

Andros, Exuma, San Salvador, Eleuthera, Mayaguana and Long Island all have their own cultural experience. Rum Cay is mostly boaters.. but has terrific beaches. Cat Island laid back and unspoiled.   Great Inagua is like living 50 years ago. It's home to 40,000 pink flamingos on Windsor Lake.. what a site.

ALL have wonderful white sandy beaches with gin-colored waters and people who are the friendliest and most interesting that I've found in all my travels..  With the exception of Paradise Islands... I'd have to say all the islands are Paradise....

  5. I don't agree with people that say they don't like the Bahamas or it is dirty. Honestly every place you go there are down falls. Nassau is georgeous! I went there in August of 2006 and stayed at Breezes resort. Not the best resort but who cares about that when you have an amazing ocean in your playing field! I hate when I see people complaining about the hotel rooms or the city. If you are going to the Bahamas to stay in the city and sit in your rooms then why go? If you are like me you go because you want to lay on the beach and relax. That is exactly what you can do. I do recomend doing the snorkeling or swimming with dolphins! It is a blast! Don't listen to the bad things focus on the good. I am going back in late september to stay at the Riu Paradise Island. We are getting married! The only thing I am worried about it a hurricane!

Too look at pictures go to TripAdvisor.com and if you put the place you are staying in there it will bring up people's reviews and pictures.
