What is the bar spacing on these cages?

Question

I am getting a pair of rats, and they will be baby's when they get them. I am thinking of getting the large Ferret Nation for them, but they will need a temporary cage while they grow until they can not squeeze through 1" bar spacing.

This says 1/2" bar spacing, but it seems larger than that to me.

Thanks a bunch! Also, does anyone know how I could get Petsmart to match the price of a Ferret Nation online? I haven't tried asking, but I'm nervous about just walking in and saying, "So, I want you to give me $100 off of this cage, mmkay?"

i would go for the second 1 just because it sayes it is recommended for a rat.

Ferret Nation is a bad idea..they need very small spacing between the bars, or they will  get their head stuck and die.

Get a cage made for a hamster or rat, then you know the bar spacing is right.

By the way, a rat can squeeze between a 1" bar spacing, they can compress their bodies, rodents are like that...
