  1. Yes, if you are talking about Propeller aircraft or Jet aircraft the basic difference is just the powerplant ( engine) used. A propeller pulls its way through the air much like a corkscrew. a pure jet uses nozzled gases to propel the aircraft. A turboprop uses a jet engine to drive a propeller. A high bi-pass jet uses a duel spool (or tri-spool) engine which is like two engines in one. A core section drives the fan section to produce thrust. The fan section produces approx. 80% of the total trust for this type of engine. There are other configurations but these are the common ones. A little long winded but i hope this helps:)

  2. None

Jet plane is a term used by people who are not in the aviation industry or aircraft spotters.

Aircraft is the proper word but planes are called other things as well such as aeroplanes.

Aeroplane is not an official term either.

The word Jet Plane most likely developed back in the day when the Gas Turbine Engine was first starting to come out.

The general public call these jet engines and they are attached to the aircraft to provide thrust so that's most likely how phrases such as jet plane came around

  3. they are both airplanes.  A jet plane refers to the engines...jet engines. Usually you see jet engines with fan blades instead of a propellor.   Propellor powered aircraft can also be jet powered.  The jet engine turns the propellor.

  4. Jet planes are a type of aeroplane or airplane.  Either spelling is correct in English.

Jet airplanes are propelled by turbojet engines.

Airplanes include jet airplanes, but may also be propelled by turboprop or piston engines driving propellers.

  5. I would guess that the intake of air on the jets engine, allows more force on the turbine so the engine does not have to work as hard to allow the turbine to generate enough power to operate the different machines or apperatisess on the airplane. :)

  6. aeroplane can use any kind of engine such as a piston engine or a rotor engine.

on the other hand a jet plane uses only jet engines.

jet engines produce much more power as compared to the normal piston engine.

  7. if by airplane, you mean a propeller driven plane, it's the mode of propulsion. Propeller driven or jet driven.

  8. a jet plane is an airplne? so they are the same.
