  1. a halter and lead rope

  2. I'm not sure what you are asking.  Are you asking about driving horses with a sulky, carriage, etc. or are you asking about transporting horses and headstalls, halters, etc.?

Ok.  All you need is a halter and a lead.  They come in various sizes and materials.  The halter should slide over the horses face; nose through the nose band and then headstall over the ears.  The headstall should have a buckle on both sides to adjust for size.  You want the noseband high on the bridge of the nose and the halter secure but slightly loose.  Most halters have a throat lash that goes under the head a fastens to a ring that's on the headstall.  The basic lead is kind of like a leash that fastens to a ring under the chin.  There are ones with special chains for added control.  I like a leather halter and a short cotton rope lead.

  5. I would suggest using a rope halter if you want to be calm with your horse. These rope halters are very "forgiving" and easy to work with! I use this to get the horse out of the field and take to tack up.

here is a link a picture of mine with the horse using this item
