  1. Awesome question.

I took a class on human adaptation and diversity at Texas State given by a licensed forensic anthropologist. By far the best class I've ever sat through. A very hot topic was the future of "race". It was proposed that because of globalization and human interaction on that scale, the attributes that separate "race" are slowly dissolving and disappearing. Evolution would mold us into one race.

Now, if the ability to trace our genetic heritage through DNA analysis became affordable and available to everyone, would that influence their choice of mate? On a grand scale, could that drive our development down the opposite course? But that's digressing...

Our knowledge of how evolution works is only enhanced, and as the technology advances, I hope to see us come closer to completing the puzzle of our origin. Genetics, in conjunction with fossil studies, is a promising endeavor. Evolution is complex, it's influences are vast. We need all the help we can get from every avenue of science to increase our understanding.
