  1. There's more variables then several of the posters had listed (ie "arm length"). A good fitting will look at your lie & loft angles and your shaft length....as well as your shaft flex. This is a huge variable! If you're swing speed is less than about 98 mph on the driver....you're doing yourself an injsutice if you have a stiff shaft. Also, a good fitting will involve a (hopefully) knowledgeable associate asking you questions about your game, your desired ball flight, what you're looking to do, etc, so he can help pair equipment to you. If you're a worker of the ball with the irons....no need for the super game improvement type. A good fitting with the right equipment could drop several strokes from your handicap easy. Good luck!

  2. TOTALLY FOR BETTER BALL CONTROL.

  3. Better grip and more accurate to your height ( but I don't think the ball can tell the difference lol)

  4. They tailor them to your size and arm length so they become smoother to hit and they also feel perfect for you. I guess it also will make the clubs feel more "yours" and gives you an excuse why your neighbour cant borrow them "sorry bob but they are tailored for my arm size only." hehe.

  5. So that it fits you.  You wouldn't wear a shirt that is two sizes larger/ smaller than your size.  Getting fitted is like buying the right size clubs for your body, except that it is more involved than just the physical dimension.  It also adjusts the loft, the length, the shaft flex, the shaft type, the type of material, the types of clubs (hybrid vs. irons).  Also you want to feel happy with the looks and feels of the clubs.

    But for beginners all those may not be relevant, as often times they have not consistent swing, so what fits one day may not fit the next day.

  6. Custom golf clubs are only good when you are done with growing. If you are still young wait a bit, it'll just wind up costing you more.

  7. Custom Fit::

    Are made you fit you and what you want;

    Your height.

    Your weight of shaft.

    Your grip.

    I wouldn't recommend it if you are still younger, because while you are growing the club will get smaller and smaller, but when growing stops and you need a nice lengthed golf club, custom fitted clubs are very beneficial.

  8. Not much! More money spent on something that you are probably going to give up in a couple of months. (If your not good) If you are a advid golfer then you will definitely tell the difference.

  9. nothing really

    it matters what clubs you are used too

    unless you are planning to make golf a career then definitely get clubs fitted

  10. Everyone has arms that are different lengths...so, customizing them to your arm's length should be beneficial to your game.

  11. The benefit is to fit the club in your preference, height, lofts, etc. if you have an average height you dont have to get fitted.

  12. Just like you get tailored suits to fit you perfectly.  Custom golf clubs fit the owner's hand and height so the stroke will be better.

  13. They are easier to use because they are tailored to your height!

  14. in my opinion there is no differance to have them custom made unless you are very tall or very short. all average size people may be taller or shorter and for instance a taller person will have longer arms and a shorter person will have shorter arms which makes average clubs a good size so unless you are abnormally tall or short I do not believe it will affect you game of make the easier to hit

  15. they are made to your feel and size.  That way they are esier to hit.

  16. better swing and improved chances of making contact with the ball
