I found at Circuit City two Samsung models. One is the 720p for 1,399 50inch.....the other is a 1080p for 1,999. Now I have a PS3 and watch all my movies on it for the Blueray. I'm just afraid if I go with the 720p model it will not look right. Should I just spend the extra and money for the 1080p? I have a $2,000 budget.

  1. have the store play the same bluray on both and view from your normal viewing distance and see if it is worth $600 to you it may or may not and ultimately it is you who have to decide

  2. Your best option is do a side by side comparison on the same TV, one with a 720p signal and the other with a 1080p signal.  Chances are you won't be able to tell the difference (most people can't, and the people that say they can are most likely lying).  The 1080p has been used rather successfully by companies to as a marketing ploy, "more is better" and get more money from your pocket.

Save the money and put it towards a decent AV receiver.  You will appreciate the better sound over the "better resolution".

  3. 1. It is OK to have 720p. Your eyes won't tell the difference actually.

    2. 1080p is the future and ultimate solution. It worth paying $600 more.

    3. You can wait for the 1080p price dropping. It will be a mainstream spec in the market.
