  1. bleach/water mix

  2. paint it with killz. when you put your shower back together make sure you use hardibacker. it is a type of cement board. it is superior to the basic green moisture resistant drywall and will give you years of maitenence free use

  3. First, check out the remarkable research on toxic mold removal done by environmental expert Dr Ed Close.

Dr Close recommends cleaning with Thieves Household Cleaner and diffusing with Thieves essential oil.

Cost of the cleaner, a diffuser and a couple bottles of Thieves oil: Maybe $250.

  4. To properly repair the problem you need to put up water board. It isn't like normal sheet rock and it doesn't mold, under normal circumstances.

  5. 50-50% bleach and water. Bleach will kill the mold.

  6. You absolutely must repair the leak before you put up the drywall. Even non diluted Bleach will not  kill the poisonous toxins left behind. Call your local specialists and ask them how to kill toxic mold. It sounds like this is 100% a toxic environement. If you did not use proper breathing filters while doing this job im sure your feeling sick now.

  7. bleach solution first, if the smell continues pait the interior surface with kiltz
