  1. The Lord Nelson at the back of Lime Street train station is quite popular and based in the city centre about 5 - 10 minutes walk from Liverpool 1 and you will pass the museum, St Georges Hall, The Conservation Centre, Art Gallery and many other things on the way.

    also try this site

  2. what most people do is stay at this hotel which is situated just outside the city centre, it is clean and tidy, reasonable rates and set in lovely gardens, you wouldn't think you were in Liverpool.

    The Devonshire House Hotel

    Edge Lane

    Liverpool 7.

    0151 264 6600

  3. yea, formule one is gonna be the cheapest place to find, whilst you dont get your own shower and loo (you have to share like neil said) you get a wash area in corner of room with big sink, mirror ect, if your coming up to liverpool, your only gonna be sleeping in the hotel and theres so much to do here in the day and night. x

  4. Best and not to expensive, well you get what you pay for. The nearest cheap hotel too Liverpool one is the formule 1 which is about 5 minutes walk. Its a fairly new building and advertises rooms for £33 a night which sleep 3 but you have to share bathroom amenities, and the reception is only open for a limited time. The YHA is almost next door again is a fairly new building and might be another cheap option.

If you are going to Liverpool one you have got to stay in the city centre, and like any city centre the hotel rooms are better but more expensive. Travelling in from The Devonshire House will cost you more money and time, so you would probably not save anything, and there is a 3* rated executive B&B round the corner which is cheaper.

The Holiday Inn express is just across the road from Liverpool One in the Albert Dock, along with the more expensive Jury's Inn. There is a Premier Inn at Albert dock too which usually charges £65 for a double room en-suite.

Try laterooms.com or tripadvisor.com for cheap deals, but Liverpool is full of tourists at the moment so you may have to pay full price if you can get a room.

If your into shopping you will love Liverpool One but only a small part of it is open at the moment, it will be fully open on October 1st.

  5. The Devonshire House Hotel, a former student hostel and a convent before that, is on Edge Lane, about three miles distance from the city centre.  Unless you are a serious fitness fanatic (and you're happy to walk through a landscape of boarded-up houses) you'll need to take the bus!

I concede that if you if you are driving to Liverpool it is only a mile from the end of the M62 in a straight line so I suppose it is convenient in that way.

    Put the Devonshire's postcode 'L7 9LD' into http://www.multimap.com and you'll see!

Liverpool One is around 'L1 8BJ'

The thing is that there are plenty of hotels within a 15-minute walk of Liverpool One (see http://www.visitliverpool.com  - and note that most of the shopping precinct doesn't actually open until September)

Frankly if you're only travelling to visit the shops on Liverpool One, you can visit any John Lewis or any Debenhams anywhere else, because they're all the same, as indeed are the smaller shops (Boots, Superdrug, WH Smith etc.)

If you're travelling to Liverpool, come here to see something different, local and individual and you won't be disappointed.

But not Liverpool One.  There isn't a single independent or any shop of note in there that you couldn't find on any other town's high street.
