What is the best 4 stroke 250cc dirtbike? Yz 250, cr 250, kx 250, or rm250?

I'm ready to START racing. I am 6 1, 170 if that helps anyone.

Also what are the pros and cons of each bike?

any of the bikes are good enough

the kxf and yzf seem to feel taller so for you might be good

the kxf,crf and yzf all have good power im not as keen on the rmz i dont think it is quite as quick as the others

they all handle fairly well all though the yam is known not to turn well in tight turns

if i were you id go for a kawasaki or honda there all round the best in my opinion

For your first race bike any of these bikes would be good to start with.  I do prefer the yzf and the crf probably the best and if you can afford it the Ktm is also a good 250cc.  Just put aside a little bit of money so you can get the suspension set up for your weight as that makes a big difference on how it handles and feels.

They are basically all the same or they would not be in the same class.. some have strengths and weaknesses.. I ride honda and they are really good bikes. To tell you the truth, it probably doesn't matter too much, it's just which brand you like more. I wouldn't go to ktm. Seriously just pick a color lol. I would go with honda. It has 2 exhausts so it makes it look sick! Good luck picking a bike. Seriously though, I really think you should go with honda, most people and pro riders say it is the best 250 four stroke right now.

Yz's are the most reliable. Kx is the fast"es. Cr's are good also, but you have to keep a eye on the oil level. Rm would be my last choice. You are 6.1 i would look at the yz it would fit you better(with taller bars) and be lower maintenance.

none of those are four-strokes. none at all. they're 2s.

if you mean yzf250, crf250, kxf250, and rmz250, then you'd be best off with the honda or yamaha.

also ktm is the best bike made. it is NOT American made like said above though; Austrailian.

these are all good bikes... Espessially theyamaha and the Honda .. You should also check out the ktm bikes.. Extreamly nice and more exspisive ... Great amrican made bikes

Rm im not a yz 4stroke fan nor a honda fan of anything and the problem with kawasaki is after riding hard your back wheel spokes begin to break and they are a pain because they dont stop breaking at all.

Any one of the bikes you have listed is FULLY capable of winning a Race if you are good enough. If you finish 10th every race on a stock 450 Suzuki, riding Ricky Carmichael's bike is not going to put you in 1st place. However I don't think there is ANY  "A" class rider in the USA that could beat RC in a race with him riding a stock bike. RC won championships on Kawasaki,Honda and Suzuki. I have no doubt that he could have won on a Yamaha

The crf250 is by far the best bike out of the box. Dependability wise and handling. The yamaha went down on power this year. The kawasaki and suzuki are both the same bike with different names and graphics. Go here to read about them and the tests. http://www.transworldmotocross.com/artic...
