  1. Hi Linzyloo,

There are lots of 40" TV's around featuring all with similar features.  However, there is one TV that stands out above most which is actually well below your £1000 budget.

I would recommend the 40" Samsung Series 6 at only £740.  This LCD TV is Full HD which means that you can watch Blu-ray movies and play PS3/Xbox games at the best possible resolution. It features 4 HDMI (High Def) inputs and 2 Scart inputs and it comes in a stylish Rose/Black colour.

You could even use the left over cash to splash out on a new Samsung Blu-ray player or FreeSat box to make the most of your full HD TV.

I hope this helps, good luck with the search and whatever you buy I hope you enjoy watching it.

  2. I have a black & white portable you can have for £1000 - might need a bit of a clean as it's been in the shed for 20 years.

  3. There are currently a well specified amount of 40 inch flatscreen's on the market and many of which are excellent performers. The samsung LE40A656 is a very solid performer  with some amazing features on offer and has immaculate detail and picture quality, and if you look around comparing prices and checking out different sites it can be bought for amazing value.

Another model is the sony KDL-40W4000 which is slightly more expensive than the samsung but recent reviews have praised the sony lcd very highly and whathifi.com has stated that its the finest 40 inch tv they've tested to date. Picture quality is also supposed to be the best on lcd so far too.

I hope this info has helped

  4. Phew, there are so many great offers around at the moment, perhaps you should check ''Which'' magazine for the best buy?

  5. This is a good one. Plus free 5yr warranty.

  6. Don't buy anything unless it says "1080P" - all the other "HD" ones aren't 'full HD', and you won't be able to watch the latest generation of high-res DVDs at their full resolution otherwise. Richer Sounds have some great deals,if there's one near you http://www.richersounds.com/home.php
