  1. Get a Vizio. Hands down, best tv for the price. Go to Sams and get on. I have a 50 inch Vizio and it kicks ***. everyone i know loves it. I have a ps3 so i play blu rays on it and its perfect. Best price, hands down.

  2. The best 42" tv from a good manufacturer like (Sony, Panasonic or Samsung) is the Panasonic TH-42PZ70B 42 Inch 1080p Plasma - TH-42PZ70B at £899. I found this deal shown at:

    http://mattsdealsalert.com/television.as...

If you want to check out other deals then the cheapest places I have found on the internet are from these 2 sites.

    http://www.1staudiovisual.co.uk/catalog/...

    or

    http://electricalproducts.at/mattsdealsa...

however, to save time I always find that the mattsdealsalert.com website highlights the best deal around and explains why it is the best deal as well.

If you want to knock off a few hundred pounds of that price on the Panasonic then think about going for a 40". You can get the same tech. specs. for around £700-750 on the 40".

    Hope that helps!

  3. Get a Sony, Samsung, or a Sharp!

  4. Panasonic Plasma 42" 720p HDTV for the best value.

Panasonic Plasma42" 1080p, if you can afford to pay a little more

    Here's a deal I found for a 720p Panasonic plasma:

    http://www.projectorsuperstore.com/produ...

If you want to go with LCD, go with Samsung or Sony...the big manufacturers make LCDs in 40" and 46" in the range you're looking for, not 42".  You'd probably pay more for an LCD if you're sticking to name brand (WHICH YOU SHOULD!).

A nice TV is an investment and you get what you pay for.

  5. Hiya! Working in retail sales, Currently product advisor for Tesco's Extra in Shoreham, The best deal I have seen is The 42" LG plasma at £749.97, with Built in hard drive. It's kinda like sky + but for Freeview. Plasma will always offer a superior picture to lcd, and is often cheaper than lcd, with the branded makes {own brands excluded}. The LG is 100hz so flicker free, 1080p input, 15,000:1 contrast, 1500cdm2 brightness. 2 x HDMI inputs, pc input, optical out, analogue out, 2 x composite inputs, component inputs, s-video, and 2 RGB compliant scart sockets. Plasma tv's have a much better viewing angle than lcd's, I:E how far round the screen you can see the image without it fading away. They always have better brightness and contrast figures, have a glass front which is far more solid than the flimsy plastic offerings of the lcd's. This means no special cleaners are required, and it is not prone to being easily scratched, also in a room with no lights on, they show true blacks, not the washed out greys of lcd. Points to note: Plasmas are heavier than lcd's, they get hotter, and consume slightly more leccy than lcd's, and  can suffer screen burn from the channel logo's if you watch one channel 24/7, I:E the sky sports logo in the corner of the screen. Or if you use it in pc mode for long periods doing powerpoint presentations etc, where the image is static for a long time. But don't be put off, The picture quality just sparkles, they are normally thinner than their lcd equivalents, and now they have been around for a few years, the problems of short lifespan have been overcome. You will typically get around 60,000 hours life from both plasma and lcd. Look at one side by side with an lcd, showing true 1080p content, you will see what I mean. Hope this helps Greg.

  6. Wow must of those reviews where from people simply trying to get you to buy from them.

The best 42" TV is really going to depend on your situation.

    To cut to the chase...

If you watch TV mostly during the day time go with a 42" LCD. Samsung, Sharp or Sony have good models. Samsung is typically a better deal for the dollar.

If you watch TV at night go with a plasma. Panasonic or Pioneer. Panasonic has the best deals on good quality plasma televisions.

Stay away from Haier, Vizio, Sansui, Toshiba, Soyo... basically any not in the list above.

  7. the insignia

  8. Never go for a cheap tv, always look for the best deal on:

    Panasonic, Sony or Toshiba.

Toshiba will be cheapest followed by Panasonic and Sony will be the dearest.

I favour Panasonic, had their make for 20 years now without one single problem, only changed to up grade.
