What is the best 4x4 vehicle

What is the best 4x4 vehicle with in a reasonable price range? I need it to be functional in the snow and off road. Also it cannot be outrageous priced (most land rovers). I am thinking along the lines of Jeep Cherokees. and also what are the best aftermarket accessories to add to the durability

The best would be the jeep wrangler for a decent small 4x4, they have solid axles which make lifts and mods very easy.  Plenty of parts around, tons of accessories.

If a jeep is not your thing, i'd say a dakota with a v8.

The Grand Cherokee would be good with the 3.0L turbo diesel for offroading.  Has 400ft/lbs torque that you'd use offroading.  Also there is a 4.7V8 that'd be good.  Obviously get the offroad package.  The Toyota FJ Cruiser is good too but I'd get the Jeep over it.  It has more room and way better visibility.  Also the 4runner is excellent but a bit smaller than the Jeep.  Also any truck or truck based suv will get the job done with an off road package option installed.  Nissan Xterra is good but size of 4runner.  In the end I like the Jeep with the diesel or 4runner.  not sure on aftermarket parts.
