  1. Sig-Sauer P226 German made non-rail.  Very accurate and has never jammed even using cheap Wolf and CCI Blazers

  2. 0- Why would anyone want to pick that caliber, when there are so many better ones to pick from, especially the 357 Magnum which is the BEST.*

  3. Ruger P series- reliable, well-made and modest price

  4. An excellent 9mm handgun for concealed carry is the Springfield EMP, or Enhanced Micro Pistol.  Very small and compact, but with outstanding accuracy and reliability.

Also consider the Kimber Aegis.  Similar to the EMP.  Both guns are quite expensive.

These are production handguns currently being made.  If you want a gun that is very rare and expensive, but capable of unbelievable accuracy, try and found a SIG P210.

If you want a 9mm handgun that's a good value, stick with Glocks, SIG's, or H&K's.

  5. Beretta 92

Only because that is the only one I own now

Never was a huge fan of 9mm

  6. so many to pick....there really are a lot of great handguns on the mkt.

Sig Sauer, HK, Springfield, S&W, Kimber, Glock, Taurus and Beretta,....even the browning Hi Power.

If I had to pick one, I guess I'd go with the Sig but I certainly wouldnt complain with any of the others.

  7. If you can't find a Mauser 'American Eagle' Luger. . .

Rather than deal with amateur opinions, I have found that the professional evaluators, both commercial and independent, have given a slight edge to the H-K pistols, from tests run by evaluators from such sources as Guns & Ammo, American Handgunner, and Gun Tests magazines.

In such tests, the H-K USP models had fewer malfunctions and NO (0) failures when tested against, not only the Sig-Sauer, but Beretta, Springfield, and S&W models, as well.

I've run nearly 5,000 rounds through my H-K USP .45ACP, including Hydra-Shok, Cor-Bon, and several equivilent custom handloads, with 0 stoppages EVER, and it's tolerances haven't measureably changed since I first aquired it.

Know also that I carry my USP .45 in 'Condition One' (c0cked & locked) with a round chambered, just as safely as one can with the 1911.

The only negative factors I've dealt with carrying the USP, inherrent in the SOCOM, as well, is it's larger size, but I'm a larger guy and LIKE the more impressive size, and the limited availability of carry systems, but I carry concealed in my own unorthodox manner, anyway.

To check out all of their offerings, go to H-K's home site, then go talk to your local H-K dealer.

  8. find the one you like best and try shooting a variety of different ones. you also might be more accurate with some than others. some good brands to try are sig, HK, glock, and ruger. they are some of the most dependable, durable, and most well built

  9. Q:  What is the best 9mm handgun on the market, and why?

A:  Define 'best.'  Best is that handgun that is already in your hands when you need it most.  Other than that, how do you define best?  Affordable?  The Ruger 9mm series of pistols is very affordable.  It is rugged & dependible to boot.  It is suprisingly accurate.  I actually saw a female officer outshoot a male officer in a friendly competition.  The gal was shooting a stock Ruger P-89 9mm.  The guy (also a distinguished expert) was shooting a tricked-out Sig 226 (also a 9mm). I decided that the girl was just a better shot!  Or maybe the guy was just trying too hard.  Either way I decided that day to never p**s-off either one of them (especially the gal who is also a babe, another reason to stay friendly!).

How about 'best' in terms of 'money is NO object!'  Then you have to include the high dollar models like from Korth and others.

To me a great semi-auto that is all-around good, that is:  Dependabile, rugged, accurate, user-friendly, high ammo capacity, reasonably priced and available in more diverse calibers than any other commercially available handgun is the Glock.  In 9mm Glock offers their Model 17, Model 19 and Model 26.  These are also available in the "C" or compensated series.  Of the three possibly the most user friendly and all around model is the Glock Model 19, which is their compact 9mm.  This one is suitable for uniform wear on a belt holster or undercover (concealed carry) in an inside-the-waistband holster.  I won't expound on the virtues of the 9mm (with the proper defensive ammo) since you are asking specifically about 9mms and therefore must already be familiar with them.  My personal favorite Glock is the Model 20 10mm.  I own three, a Model 20, a Model 31 (.357 Sig) and a Model 26 (9mm).  I own other semi-autos but I keep coming back to Glock.

  10. Get ready for a lot of different answers and a lot of thumbs down. People all have  different preferences and you really need to find out which one you like.

I like the Smith & Wesson AF9VE. It is my personnel carry weapon and has never failed to fire or Jam in any way. I love it.

Now - Smith owners will say yes these are great guns. Old timers will call them plastic toys and glock owners will say they are a rip off of there 19 model.

It is all about what you like so try out  alot before you buy.

  11. Glock 19 for me.

Concealable, reliable, accurate and easy to handle and work on.

Also they are fairly cheap at about 500$ with night sights.

  12. A german luger or mauser is a well known gun for being reliable and of high quality but they are expensive. if you want something cheaper you can get a Ruger or a Glock and a Glock is really well built and reliable and is used by law enforcement officers.

  13. all fairly similar, some are better constructed than others.  go with names you recognize.  cost will also indicate a better quality gun (more expensive generally better made).

your choice should depend on how you will use it, if its just a weekend toy, home defense, or if you use it for your job.

either way, i can tell you what NOT to get.  avoid the Glock!  no hammer on the glock.  you cant tell if you're c0cked or not.  very easy to accidentally go off.  just google to see all the accidents and accidental deaths due to this stupid design.

  14. The best one on the market is the one that is going to operate when you squeeze the trigger.  You'll have to shoot thousands of rounds thru a gun before you determine if it's a good weapon or not because most modern day weapons are built really sound.  The "best" is going to be the one you like, and the one that fits your hand and shooting style.

I've got 9,000 plus rounds thru my HK USP 9mm though without a single jam.  Well...it did happen once when I let a gf shoot it, but I think she limp wristed it.
