  1. PlayStation 3 because you can download the newest drivers when they're out.

  2. A Playstation 3... You can do soooo much more stuff with it even if you don't like to play computer games that much.

  3. Well, I would listen to everyone else and buy a PS3. Best blu ray player fo sho.

  4. Playsation 3 - due to the fast loading of the discs (usually takes around 3 minutes for oter blu-ray players), it can also update wirelessly or wired, it can play games, get updates, can also make a digital copy of the movie onto a PSP to take wirelessly, makes the picture better, and starts at 399$ for a 40 gig PS3.

PLUS ITS THE BEST OF THE BEST BLU_RAY PLAYER! IT"S THE BEST! NUMBER 1

  5. PS3

  6. PS3 cause u get the movies, the games, and u can surf the net at no extra cost (except for the system, movies, games and keyboard for typing on the internet, trust me, u don't want to type with the playstation 3 controller)

  7. There aint nothing better than a PS3.

They cost less than ordinary blue-ray players, plus you get the benefit of the gaming and automatic updates.

Dont forget to connect it via a HDMI cable for the best possible picture.

  8. While the PS3 certainly gives you the most for your money, the one thing it cannot offer is the new uncompressed HD audio formats.  Currently, the PS3 can only send "Uncompressed PCM" signals (up to 8-channels) over an HDMI  cable.  The "DolbyTrueHD" and "DTSHD Master Audio" formats can't be sent out to a capable receiver for decoding.  You'll have to wait for the next firmware upgrade for PS3 (version 2.20 won't support either one of those HD audio formats).

But the player to own is the Panasonic DMP-BD50.  It should be out in the States in May of this year.  It's the first Blu-ray Disc player which offers INTERNAL decoding of all three HD audio formats.  This prevents the need to purchase a brand new HD audio Home Theater receiver with fancy HDMI jacks all over it.

If your current receiver has the "5.1 Analog" input (or "7.1 Analog" input) on the back, then all you'll need is a handful of simple RCA cables to get the sound from your Blu-ray Discs.  One RCA cable for each of your speakers plus on more for the subwoofer.  Here's a link explaining how to hook all this up: http://www.avtruths.com/uncompressed.htm...

Don't waste money on an entire new system.  Just buy the right Blu-ray Disc player to take advantage of the latest technology.  Also, Blu-ray Disc players look great on standard HDTVs (720p, 1080i) and regular analog TVs (480i).  The right player is backwards compatible with any Home Theater setup.

  9. PS3 all the way!! it was one of the reasons i bought it.. :)

  10. If you want to play games I would suggest the PS3.  It is the greatest and I love mine.  You must invest into a PS3 because you have the best of both worlds.  A gaming system and a blue ray system.
