  1. Eldora...Best for beginners hands down.

  2. NOT WINTER PARK it is a bad place to learn

some good mountains would be copper mountain who has a whole mountain of begining terrain and what not

Breckenridge is a good learning resort too because it is very flat

but i would stick with copper because it has naturally divided terrain (far east all blacks / middle all blues / far west all greens it is a nice set up

    check it out

  3. I like snowbasin Utah. It's undiscovered and unbelievable. There are plenty of beginner trails if you want, but there are also cliffs and double diamdonds too. It's the best resort in the west, besides vail.

  4. I always preferred Winter Park / Mary Jane - excellent snow and down to earth friendly. Located about two hours west of Denver via I-70 and U.S. 40 over Berthoud Pass (spectacular scenery).

  5. i personally don't really like WInter Park. i grew up skiing at Beaver Creek and loved it. Also, since Vail is basically owned by the same people it is also a good mountain with a lot of variety.

  6. I live in Breckenridge.  The best area to learn at is Ski Cooper on the divide.  It is between Vail and Leadville.  It is a small area.  Not very steep.  You won't be inundated with other skiers.  A few years ago I went on the Wednesday before christmas and there were only 16 people skiing.  And a full day pass is $39.00.  or:

Two hour lesson > Equipment Rental > Full Mountain Lift > $60

Inexpensive, non-intimidating, fun and very few crowds.
