  1. All "credit repair companies" are going to charge $300 or more to do nothing other than send form letters to your creditors and the national repositories so frequently that they will eventually miss one of the "response windows" and the repository will drop that "late or charged off debt" from your report, temporarily.  You scores may improve due to the useless and persistant activity of the "repair" service.  However, as soon as you apply for a new loan, with your "new and higher" credit rating, your past creditors subscribe to a "tracker service" that will flag them and they will re-file the collection deficiancy.  This will result in a "NEW AND RECENT DEROGATORY" item being filed that will probably lower your scores lower than they were before your $300 "TEMPORARY" solution.

Save your money, write your own letters to the repositories ... Transunion, Equifax, and Experian to make them correct any bonafide errors.  Pay your debts, and re-establish your credit with prompt payments over a reasonable period of time.  There is no such thing as legal, or real Credit Repair, just a temporary reprieve, until you apply somewhere again.

  2. whoever you use, be very very careful. they will all tell you that they dont report to a credit agency and all the fluff about it bettering your credit. but what they do is negotiate with your creditors to pay back a portion of the debt. your creditors will put it on your credit report. if you can work your way out of it without one of the companies its much much better

  3. Look in the mirror. You are the best and cheapest credit repair company. Apparently many people think all they have to do is sign up with one of these credit repair services and that they will do all the work for them for a reasonable fee. Here's how it works, you pay them to tell you what YOU have to do to repair your own credit. It's very simple. Change your lifestyle. Reduce your spending. Stop all frivolous spending (dining out, smoking, drinking, fancy vacations, fancy cars, unnecessary driving, etc.). And over time pay down your debt. And I'm giving you this advice for 100% less than the credit repair company will charge you. There is no simple way out. You have to do the sacrificing. Either you're up for it or you're not.

  4. The best way to do this is yourself order your report from all the agency see what does not belong have it investigated then what you haven't paid that's yours pay them the best you can that'ss what they will do for you is dispute you can do that on your own .good luck

  5. Ok, this is what i can say, yes credit repair companies can only do what you can do yourself, but like myself there are many other people out there that dont have them time to go 10 times to the post office and send off letters to all credit bureaus and all creditors that are listed on a credit report, sure you can, but you can also fix your own car, mow your own lawn and home school your kids but you dont. Instead you decide to use a professional.

A site I've used for info in the past ...

    Hope that helps.

  6. The best credit repair service is your own financial self discipline.

  7. bad credit to your name? the only way that you can 'fix' your credit rating is to pay all your bills and not have unpaid debts on there. If you do have anything unpaid, you need to have them paid off, they will drop off over time and after approx 5 years (well its true, thats why you have to pay your bills) your credit rating will be fine. You do not need to get any loans or credit cards to 'up' your rating.

  8. I don't know how large they are, or even if they have one in your area, but years ago Consumer Credit Counseling only charged something like 5 dollars a month for postage.  Otherwise, they negotiated with your creditors to lower late fees and interest rates so you could get everything paid off in 3 years.  I couldn't believe it when the guy explained it to me, but he said a lot of the creditors contribute to them financially in the interest of getting past due accounts paid off.  That may or may not be true, but the plan he showed me on paper worked out mathematically and I never paid one cent extra.
