I ve heard the Canon range is good, what do you use what do you recommend?

I am looking for at least 10MP 2.5" screen. Decent lens and like the Sony range where the sesor is in the body so you can have loads of cheap compatible lenses.

Thanks in advance...

don't mind the large price tag, you can just get a cheap lens to go along with it .It's around 750$, which isn't that bad considering all of its specifications:

    a) A two and a half inch screen

    b) Ten megapixels

    c) Top status lcd screen

    d) large physical size.

oh, and you don't need sony, sure, they have IS in the body, but that doens't matter when it comes to buying lenses, the lenses are still very expensive ( usually at least $200 ), which i don't consider cheap. Nikon is the best out right now, and canon is runner up, sony isn't much of a contender in my opinion. The lenses are that cheap at all.

You should get the nikon d80, it's a great camera for under 500 pounds ( i think :S ). you're going to get some great shots, and you're not going to be dissapointed with the image s you can yield from the camera.
