  4. There is a very good one in Crouch End..but can't remember the name...it's in the main square...near the big clock!!!

  5. Without doubt the Menelik Ethiopian Restaurant, Caledonian road in Islington. Friendly, great food and not expensive.

  6. The Dumpster, Mitcham Lane, Streatham SW16.

  7. I'm a lover of Ethiopian food and though it may sound strange the best Ethiopian in my opinion is actually an Eritrean restaurant - Zigni  House on Essex Road in N1. (Angel/Highbury & Islington tube) Eritrea and Ethiopia (Which have been the same country in the past) have practically identical cuisines, and the quality at Zigni House, which serves a wide range of traditional Ethiopian and Eritrean food, is outstanding. It's best to get the feast - a bit of everything. They are so friendly that last time we ate there they came over when we had almost finished our meal and asked which of the dishes in the feast we had liked more, and brought us extra servings of them!

It's a lovely setting and lovely food, I recommend it heartily.

p.s. the Asmara beer is great too!

p.p.s. Due to the fact that Eritrea used to be part of Ethiopia, they have quite acrimonious relations. If you want to take an Ethiopian visitor it may be better to go to Menelik!
